Digg is a news website that combines social bookmarking and blogging. News stories and websites are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system. People can either choose to "Digg it" or not and as a result the article rises or falls in importance. It is an interesting take on the news and has rapidly grown in popularity since its conception in late 2004 with over 500,000 users at present.
