The most popular internet browser available to date, currently in it's 7th incarnation it has always been free to the public to download and as of 1997 it was integrated into Windows explorer and many other parts of the Windows OS. This move was the subject of a lot of criticism as many people argued it lowered competitors chances to compete.
It has recently started to receive more competition form open source browsers like Firefox but can be expected to remain the most popular browser for a long time.
