The largest auction site on the internet, users can bid on goods or if they choose to sell their own goods. Starting life a small site called Auctionweb, in 1996 it became eBay (standing for Electronic Bay Area) and grew into the auctioning giant it is today. eBay itself is not actually in possession of the goods and items advertised for sale on the website but rather acts as the broker between users and generated profits from a variety of fees and also from advertising.
To prevent fraud users are given feedback from people they have traded with and anyone who receives a rating of -4 is automatically banned from using eBay in the future.
